The image does not mark the beginning of creation. It marks the moment when a question finds its first visible form.

The creative process rarely begins with a preconceived concept. Before there is a theme, a collection, or a narrative, there exists a state of inquiry shaped by lived experience. Every stage of life brings new questions, not always articulated in words, but present as quiet impulses that subtly guide the artist's gaze.

It is from this state of inquiry that the first visual impulse emerges. A scene, a dream, an atmosphere, a photograph discovered by chance, a cinematic reference, or a fragment of memory may intuitively condense what has not yet been fully understood. The image appears before the explanation. It does not answer the question; it reveals that the question exists.

Invisible Architecture is the space where this visual impulse begins to organize itself. Memories, references, visual codes, textures, photographs, typography, and graphic structures gradually establish increasingly complex relationships, long before any definitive image comes into view. The process unfolds as an open investigation, in which each reconfiguration expands the work's field of possibilities.

Throughout this journey, the image remains latent. It has not yet become a representation, but exists as a presence in formation, perceived only through successive approximations. In processes based on collage, layering, and digital construction, elements are displaced, distorted, erased, repositioned, and continuously reconstructed. Every intervention transforms the behavior of the image and opens new possibilities for its organization.

This movement resembles a process of defragmentation. Gradually, each element seems to seek the place where it establishes its most meaningful relationship with the others. The artist experiments, brings elements together, separates them, removes them, and reorganizes them, not to impose a preconceived form, but to recognize the organization that gradually reveals itself through the creative process.

The image emerges when this reorganization reaches a state of equilibrium. Not because it has been definitively completed, but because every element comes to occupy a position that no longer feels arbitrary. The artist experiences the sensation of having discovered a path, or perhaps of having been discovered by it.

 

Only at this stage does the conceptual field of the work begin to reveal itself. Unlike methods guided by predetermined themes, this research allows the creative process itself to uncover the affinities that exist between different images. Often, it is only after several works have been completed that it becomes possible to recognize they share the same aesthetic and conceptual investigation. The series does not precede creation; it emerges from it.

A collection, therefore, is not born from the decision to represent a particular universe. It emerges when different works begin to share the same visual atmosphere, the same underlying question, and the same structure of thought. Cultural, historical, and iconographic references, whether drawn from cinema, music, photography, or popular culture, are recognized only afterwards as belonging to the universe revealed by the research itself.

The final image does not represent the conclusion of this journey. It records only the moment when these relationships reach a provisional state of equilibrium. Its emergence does not bring the creative process to an end; it simply makes visible a structure that continues to exist beyond what the viewer can see.
